Does the copper fade?

Every effort is made to protect the copper which is sealed after the patina has taken hold, it is then put behind protective glass, and like any piece of fine art it should not be left in direct sun light.
Copper has been in use for centuries and a lot of the old masterpieces are infact painted on copper which outlasts wood or canvas.
